Refund policy
At Precious Metals we know you will be satisfied with your purchase.
However, if for any reason you are not satisfied with your order, you may return your items for any reason provided that the items are in a new and unworn condition, in their original packaging and with all original tags, labels and marketing collateral (booklets, flyers, leaflets, etc.) included. The goods should be packaged safely to ensure that the item will not be damaged in transit to us, and a copy of our "Returns & Exchanges" form must been completed and included in the parcel too.
Please note that engraved, personalised, special order or custom items are unable to be returned for a refund except in the event that the item is faulty. If you are unsure about an item or size, we recommend trying the item on before having the item personalised (resized or engraved) to avoid disappointment.
You have 30 days from the date of your invoice to return full priced items for a refund or exchange.
Please read through the following information below carefully before attempting to return or exchange your product. If you do not comply with our returns policy, we may not be able to process your return or exchange.
RETURNING YOUR PURCHASE
We understand that products purchased online may differ from your expectations. For all online purchases, you may return it within 30 days of the date on your invoice for a full refund subject to the conditions of our returns policy.
To return an item for any reason, please send a copy of your order invoice, along with your items back to us ensuring that all items are in a new and unused condition, in their original packaging and with all original tags, labels and marketing collateral (booklets, flyers, leaflets, etc.) included. The goods should be packaged safely to ensure that the item/s will not be damaged in transit to us. We are unable to refund or exchange items damaged in transit back to us.
We do not accept products for return or exchange if they arrive in any condition other than their original state, or if they are past our return period. Any items we deem to have been worn or without original packaging will be returned to you at your cost.
Please keep your courier tracking/proof of postage safe until you receive confirmation from us that we have received the items.

All refunds will be subject to inspection before the issuance of credit, refund or exchange. Refunds will be processed via the same payment method that they were purchased with, excluding any initial or subsequent delivery charges (except in the event of a return due to a product fault or incorrect item being sent by Precious Metals.)
If goods are faulty, we will unreservedly meet our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act to provide a remedy.
Method of Return
Items for return may be returned in person to the store that they were purchased from or shipped back to store in their original condition as stipulated in the returns policy conditions.
Precious Metals is not responsible for the shipping cost for any items returned. Should your item be faulty or incorrect then we will refund both the original shipping costs and the return delivery costs.
If you return an item because you have changed your mind or it is unsuitable we will refund the cost of the item only and not the original shipping cost.
Return Conditions
All returns are subject to inspection on their return to make sure the following conditions have been met before processing a refund.
- Items must be returned in their original, new and unused condition with all appropriate packaging and paperwork.
- Proof of purchase must be provided in the form of your receipt/ gift receipt/ invoice/ order number.
- Personalised, special order or custom pieces are not eligible for return.
- Items must be received back in the possession Precious Metals within 30 days of purchase.
- Please note no refunds will be offered on sale or clearance items so please make sure you choose carefully.
PRODUCTS PURCHASED ON SALE
Please note that products purchased while on sale are not returnable for a credit or exchange and non-refundable*, so please choose carefully.
*Precious Metals Group will meet any obligations required as stipulated in the Consumer Guarantees Act.
RECEIVING A REFUND
Online Refunds
If eligible for a refund, the refund must be processed back to the original payment method. Please allow 2-4 business days for a refund to be processed once approved.
In-store Refunds
All refunds that have been approved will be processed via bank transfer to your designated bank account. Please allow 2-4 business days for the transfer to take place once the refund has been approved. Please note that cash refunds are not available at any in-person locations.
Exchanges
We are happy to exchange or give a store credit for items returned within 30 days of purchase. Items must comply with our Returns Policy to be eligible.
Gift Returns
Gift returns require a gift receipt and are eligible for exchanges and in-store credit only. Please return items in original packaging. Any gift that shows signs of use or wear will not be accepted for exchange.
Order Cancellations and Amendments
We make an effort to process and ship your orders within 24-48 hours. If you have made a mistake with your order, please contact us at enquiries@preciousmetals.co.nz immediately.
Please note we are unable to amend/ cancel orders once they have shipped.
Custom and Special Order Items
Due to the special nature of custom and special order items, these products are not eligible for returns or refunds. Any product that has been built or altered at your request (including ring re-sizing and diamond upgrades) falls under this category and as such is not eligible for exchange.
Personalised Items
Personalised items and custom jewellery are not eligible for returns at this time.
